Here is a very easy way to jailbreak your iPod Touch with no computer at all. This method allows you to jailbreak your iPod Touch from your iPod Touch!
We have released a new automatic jailbreak that still requires no computer. Our new version is a spawn of the Dev Team Jailbreak, but it installs the iPhone apps ( The January Software Update) during the install. This should really help simplify things! If you have questions or comments, post them. This Jailbreak may take up to an hour to install!
The Repo (source) for this is:
http://ipodtouchmaster.com/files/repo.xml
This may or may not work on the iPhone, but we don’t see why it wouldn’t. Thanks and good luck!
Requirements:
Jailbroken 1.1.2 device
Latest Version of installer
Open SSH and Services installed on 1.1.2
BSD Subsystem 1.5 or greater (2.0 is current)
Turn Autolock to “never”
Attatch your device to a power source (or make sure it has full battery)
- The iPod Elite Team
Disclaimer- if you already have a Jailbroken 1.1.3 and want the 1.1.3 Apps, go to the same repo (you may need to refresh your sources) and install the 1.1.3 iPhone Apps Package, then install the Mail Fix. we are going to try to merge these in to one file for your convenience
UPDATE:
If your ipod doesn’t restart after an hour, then manually do it by holding the sleep and home button until it turns off. Then turn it back on and you should have a jailbroken 1.1.3 ipod!!
Remember to post any comments here.

I have the software update which includes notes, stocks, maps, etc. So if I downgrade it to 1.1.2 so I can get installer on their will I lose my software update when I upgrade it back to 1.1.3. Or will it come back on their so I don’t have to pay $20

This method does work, just do exactly what it says and make sure you are on 1.1.2 not 1.1.1.
Be patient, it took about 45 min for me to install all the files.

Noah:
Just downgrade to 1.1.1. Jailbreak it. Oktoprep to 1.1.2. then do 1.1.3 and your bought apps will sync over again.

Actually I take that back, don’t do this just yet. I am hearing that doing this on itunes 7.6 doesn’t work properly. I am in the process of writing up a post on this, it should be up later tonight.
So if you can wait, I would hold off a little while longer.

Yes be careful if you have iTunes 7.6, it won’t let you oktoprep from 1.1.1 back to 1.1.2
I have heard that some people have downgraded and reinstalled iTunes 7.5, but this causes problems to your music library.
It seems the best bet right now is to install itunes 7.5 on a different computer and force a restore to 1.1.1, then hook it back up to your original computer.
Maybe someone else has an easier way..

what does oktoprep mean, and can i just load installer to 1.1.2
Noah // January 28, 2008 at 9:24 pm
by clicking restore on iTunes would that get me back to 1.1.2
lonman06 // January 28, 2008 at 11:13 pm
Noah oktoprep was a program from installer.app that you needed to install to prepare your iPod Touch for a jailbreak from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2

How do jailbreak an iPod touch firmware 1.1.3 that hasn’t been previously jailbroken?
Adeel Anwar // February 9, 2008 at 9:00 pm
silly Question but where do you download the additional apps for the iPod touch I’ve updated and thought they’d already Benin the 1.1.3 update, that’s kind of false shoddy advertising showing the apps on the new 32GB model LOL. Mail me with the answer someone plz, adstronix@gmail.com
Thank You
