I have seen many many requests for adding PSX ROMs using sendspace and iShare. So I know this will make a lot of people happy. Thanks to Brill301 from ipodtouchfans.com for this. Make sure you follow all of the steps very carefully.
TUTORIAL:
It is pretty straight forward, but, might as well.
Needed:
PSX emulator
iShare.app
Sendspace Account
WHAT TO DO:
Install this FIRST! To the psx .app.
This is the bios: scph1001.bin
Enter this into iShare: http://www.sendspace.com/file/iwjueo
These are the iso’s:
Install var/root/media/ROMs/PSX
If you don’t already have PSX folder MAKE ONE by using total commander or an FTP client!
** There are more detailed instructions after the game links, make sure you look at them if you are unsure of how to do this.

Now that you have the .txt file pick a game that you want (as many as you want!).
Then go to the ishare.app and make an account (if you don’t already have one)
Then click download.
Then click on the: http://www.sendspace.com/file/
…then all you need to add is the last 6 numbers/letters!
Then pick were to put the iso
/var/root/Media/ROMs/PSX/
If you don’t have a PSX folder already, you will need to make one.
Now play your game.
Make sure you put the BIOS in first!

You just have to download it the way it says in the instructions. Make a sendspace account and then go to that link. You have to make sure the bios is installed to the psx.app.

I think it has something to do with the files being zipped. I checked and all the files ended with “.z”. When I unzipped the files that were downloaded from the links and SSHed them into my iPod they worked..
Maybe this is the on;y way to do it for now?

I think to unzip them you need to download the file using your computer. Then just use any unzipping program to unzip them. I think this must have been done because the files are too big otherwise?

it’s not the way you guys are doing it that’s wrong it’s the actual roms. I was having the same problem, but when I manually did it (using ibrickr) with a different rom it worked fine. So my conclusion is that this way sucks!

ibrickr is just computer software. Google it and download it. Then plug your iPod touch in and then you can access your files on your iPod. You can make folders and add files to it. You don’t even need the bios that’s optional but if you want it in ibrickr put it in applications/psx4all. Then go to var/mobile/media/ROM’s/psx and put your roms in their and that should work!

I think “error opening cdr component” means that there is something wrong when you try to open the roms. I am going to see if I can find more information about this.

Hey BOB, if you download them in RAR format, just unzip them and try to manually add them. When I get the chance, hopefully in the next day or two I am going to see if I can get it to work. If it works I will post another guide.

Hey guys I’ve found away of downloading roms directy from your ipod and get them on your ipod without a computer. Add this source http://homepage.mac.com/hartsteins/co... then go to copy coders category and 1.1.1 users download 1.1.1 – Download Plugin and 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 users download 1.1.2 – Download Plugin. Then add this source http://movenplay.gforge.inria.fr/iphone and download MNPlight. You can now download any rom from any rom site. Download a rom then click on MNPlight, click files, downloads, then click on the file you downloaded. Click on unzip archive and type in the directory you want to download it to eg. psx would be /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX and then you can play it. More info watch this video I found on youtube but he downloads an MP3 but it’s the same idea

The Playstation bios is called “schp1001.bin”
you DO NOT put it into “/var/root/Media/ROMs/PSX/” or “/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX/” !
The bios file MUST go into “/Applications/psx4all.app/” it MUST be named “scph1001.bin”
Depending on your version of the iPhone you have, you may need to put your roms into a different folder.
1.1.3 and 1.1.4 users must place the PSX Games into “/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX/” were as previous users place them into “/var/root/Media/ROMs/PSX/”
Type the following commands in putty or winscp or using Term-vt100. (Google for help if needed)
If you would like to create a link in “/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX” to “/var/root/Media/ROMs/PSX”.
rm -rf /var/root/Media/ROMs/PSX
ln -s /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX \
/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX
reboot
psx4iphone support the following game formats:
.ISO
.BIN (“RAW” rip from tools such as CDRDAO and CloneCD)
.IMG (such as from CloneCD)
.Z (from PocketISO compressed BIN files)
.ZNX (from PocketISO compressed BIN files)
IMPORTANT! YOU MUST SET FILE PERMISSIONS OF THE FILE psx4all TO 755
Type the following commands in putty or winscp or using Term-vt100. (Google for help if needed)
chmod 755 /Applications/psx4all.app/

The guy is a dick he makes you download zipped games! Look you will need to somehow unzip the games and youm will see the proper game inside then you put it in the ROMS/PSX folder

1. You do not UNZIP or EXTRACT the games!
psx4all will play them as is, just like I listed above.
2. The psx bios “scph1001.bin” DOES NOT go in the same folder as the roms! it goes into the application folder.
3. The login password and user name are as follows:
For users with firmware 1.1.2/1.1.3/1.1.4
User: root
Pass: alpine
For users with firmware 1.0/1.0.1/1.0.2/1.1.1
User: root
Pass: dottie
4. .z is a compressed .bin file and can be opened using “PocketISO”
5. The command to set the permissions is as follows:
chmod 755 /Applications/psx4all.app/
6. Geting “No Such Thing” ?
The directorys don’t exist and don’t worry about it, worry about how old your firmware is
UPDATE to 1.1.4 GUYS!
Use ziphone 2.6b to Unlock, Jailbreak and Activate http://www.ziphone.org

SSH guide, must be jailbroken and have PSX4all installed b4 u start.
To SSH, download Winscp, just search on google and then open it up , make sure you have installed BSD subsystem and OpenSSH from installer first. Thengo to setting on ure ipod, general and ensure that autolock is turned off, then go to settings, WIFI, then press the little blue arrow. Now open WINSCP click new, type the Ip address you can see on ure ipod into the host name box and for username type root and for password type alpine. Ignore the other stuff, Click login and wait for around 3o secons to 2 or 3 minutes. it should go searching for host, connecting, authenticating. A new window will then pop up with media and library. Click on the up icon on the toolbar at the top and then on the new window go down to applications. Google scph1001.bin until u find the file. Make sure it is all lowercase, before proceeding otherwise it wont work. Now go to applications, psx for all and drag the bios into the folder. It should be a .bin file and if its compressed, use a program called 7 zip to uncompress it. Oce the bios has copied, go into the folder called psx4all and there will be loads of stuff in it. Find the bios, right click and then go right click, properties, and click all of the boxes labelled x. The octal shoudl now read 755.
You have now put the bios in.
Now google psx iso or whatever to find some ROMS. downlaod and extract.
Reload WINSCP and go into media. Create a folder called ROMs and then a subfolder called PSX. Dump the Rom in there and change the properties as we have previously done. Now the game should load.

I have 1.1.4 also and snes,genesis, and nes works with just one folder…for some reason GBA you have to have ROMs/GBA/GBA… So the second GBaa folder is inside the first…

niall, when you first open up ure SSH program u shud see a folder called media. Go in there and create a folder called ROMs. Spelt exactly like that. Then create a subfoder called GBA in the ROMs folder. Put the roms in there and make sure that they are in .gba format. Then once they are in right click and go to properties, permissions and then click that. Change the permissions/octal to 755, otherwise the Roms wont work. people instead of choosin the psx folder, just choose the roms folder and it will download then just ssh into ur ipod and move it to the psx folder

Does anyone care to explain why many of us are getting the CDR error?
I think the permissions are fine. (The first time I tried the command it said it couldn’t find the folder, but then I capitalized the “A” in “Applications” and hit return and it gave me no feedback at all. I’m assuming it worked?)
Bios is installed fine, no error there. I am running 1.1.1 and have no intention of upgrading to 1.1.4 because it causes tons of compatibility problems and the only real benefit is the wiggle feature…big deal, I can easily organize my icons with customize…Seriously, what is the 1.1.4 craze all about? It has NOTHING new to offer and it uses 1.1.3’s shitty alternate folder thing. It would be much easier on the developers if people stuck with 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. Plus, last time I installed 1.1.4, it glitched when I tried to install most of my apps. :/

Oh, and please don’t confuse the problems here. I know where to put the roms. I know where to put the bios. I know the files dont need to be unzipped. I severely doubt using WinSCP instead of iShare will solve anything at all. Address the real problems, please.

Hey guys. All of you that were using 1.1.4 were wasting your time. Zodttd never made it compatible for 1.1.3+. Until today. The zod released 0.2.0, with a 50% performance increase and 1.1.3+. Also, the bios now go in the same folder as your ROMs. Just thought I would let u all know…

if you got it from here it still won’t work, but if you get them from a ROMs sites, then it should work. If not, maybe your bios are bad…try ‘em both and let me know…I’ll see what I can find out.

Here is what you do in a PC,
Download WinSCP
Connect your iPod to your PC*Scroll down first*
On WinSCP register your iPod/iPhone
Host Name: Put your IP Address here (Find it in your iPod @ Settings>>WiFi
Username: root
Password: alpine
***So your iPod can do this you have to download Services off Install first.***
Open it up, double-click ” .. ” in WInSCP on your opened iPod
Until it says var down at the bottom
then click root (mobile if you have the update of the emulator, either way do both root and mobile with the same following steps just to make sure:)
Then Media
Then Create a new folder by pressing F7
Name it ROMs
Enter it,should be blank
Make another folder inside it
Name it GBA (if using GBA emulator)
PSX (if using PSX emulator)
GENESIS (if using genesis4iphone)
Then finally, find a ROM, on this site or somewhere else and download it and copy it to var/root*or*mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX*or*GBA*or*GENESIS
then go to /Applications/psx4all.app/
then make a new folder named BIOS
and enter the BIO there, can’t find it?
Google either PSX, GB, GENESIS with BIO at the end ( I used a YouTube video’s description for mine)
If this doesn’t work, copy the BIO to /Applications/GBA or another one (PSX or GENESIS) *outside the BIOS folder

Well the CDR error message is related to the application that compresses the game .iso’s. The application compresses the game and also creates a .table file that is needed by the emulator.

Your 300mb partition is full. You need boss tools to free up disc space.
Follow instuctions carefully
deleting some videos or apps or photos you don’t need to install the necessary boss tool is a must. Free up as much space as you can. You can get applications back in your larger partition after you run the boss tool.
Go through your sources. Its under tweaks or utilities.

okay guys I’m gonna explain for those who are on a 1.1.4 and use mac OS X:
-you MUST download your roms from a site,- Rom Hustler for exemple. You gonna dload all the parts of the rom and everything wil be on .rar format.
- you open the first part”nameofthegame [U]part01.rar” in Unrar X and it will create a new .rar file (in the folder wher were all the other .rar files) just find it and open it!
-now a new game is created: you have three or four files(it may depend); .ccd .img and .cue!
-now you open Cyberduck, and you will drag these three (or four) files in /var/mobile/media/ROMs/PSX
here we are! If you put your bios well it will be working. I think in the end it’s exactly the same on windows.

Put Tour Bios on the PSX app. not on the PSX folder for ROMS.
If the psx cant find your bios, you put it on the wrong folder.

I think you all forgot that you also need the Video plug-ins, bios and video plug-ins are very important components of PSX,… just download them…unzipped them…. and then….put them on the proper folder…(bios files to BIOS folder) (video plug-ins to PLUG-INS folder)….
I recommend you to have multiple Video Plug-ins, so you will have some choices becoz some ISO games have diff compatibility on video….

Hey guys i had the same problem as you guys and believe me i was stressed out trying to get this shit to work because all i had showing up CDR error component. Anyways im posting a comment because i would feel really bad not to because i know there must be many of you that must be having problems. Before i start to explain how to do it i just want to let you know that dont do it the others have directed you to in their comments because they dont know what the fuck they are talking about. THIS IS HOW YOU REALLY DO IT!!!!
1) Anyways you can SSH your iphone two ways. One way using wifi and they other way without wifi and to do it without wifi you need winscp and iphone tunnel suite for you PC. You need to download open ssh, automatic ssh and the toggle to enable and disable it and all this you can find from cydia in your phone.
(If any of you dont know how to SSH im not going to waste my time explaining it because it will take forever. You can learn on youtube)

2)For all those that say that you dont have to put the scph1001.bin bios into the PSX folder under ROMs are retards!!!!
3)Download scph1001.bin from google (Just type it in and download it from the dragonball website)
4)download psx4iphone from cydia
5)ssh and put file scph1001.bin into the PSX folder under ROMs. To get their its /private/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX. Make sure when you put it in you right click the folder and in properties you need to change the Octal to 0755. Make sure you do that or the games wont work!!!
6)You also put the file scph1001.bin into the psx4iphone application folder and to get their its /private/var/stash/Applications/psx4iphone.app and you need to ALSO!!! change it to 0755
7)go to this website http://www.doperoms.com and download any rom of your choice. I cant gaurantee that every rom works because im not going to waste my time trying everyone because i have a life!!lol..but the one i tried was final fantasy tactics and that worked for me. So try that rom first so you know it works. Then try downloading a rom of your choice and if it doesnt work that means that im not wrong, that just means the rom is fukt!! up.
8)When you finish downloading the rom into your PC you have to unzip it before you SSH it into the iphone. Some people say that you dont have to because the emulator can still read it well thats bullshit!!! You have to unzip it. I unzipped a .rar format so when trying to download roms try to download with a format of .rar. I dont know if the others work. Now to unzip the file i used the software winrar. I tried winzip but tell you the truth it sucks so trust me and download winrar from downloads.com and use that to unzip.
9)Once you download winrar go to the rom that you downloaded into your PC and rightclick it and click on extract files. Then a window will popup and you can choose where to extract it. Just to let you know, one of the files being extracted must be in one of these formats or the ROM WONT WORK!!!!!!! The formats are as follows:
.ISO
.BIN
.IMG
.Z
.ZNX
10)Once extracted then SSH the extracted files to /private/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX. Some people say that you have to also SSH the rom into the psx4iphone folder. Again!! thats bullshit!!! LOL. Once the files are in that folder you must right click the files and click on properties again and change the octal to 0755. Again!! if you do not do this then the rom wont work.
11)I recomment that you reboot your iphone once this is all done. Open your emulator and you should see the game of your choice with one of these formats in the end .ISO
.BIN
.IMG
.Z
.ZNX
If you see your game with on eof these formats click on it and have fun! Pce.

Oh and one more thing i forgot to add. Obvioulsy i prefer using the SSH option without using wifi connection because i dont have wifi connection around my computer area. Anyways when you download iphone tunnel suite and open it before you open winscp a window will open up depending on what windoes verion you have. I have windows xp so mine wasnt the same in the video that the kid made to teach you guys. If its a black window and its asking for a password just put in “alpine” and leave that window open at all times.
