iJailBreak.com has released a jailbreak that will work for 1.1.4. Even better it will allow you to jailbreak 1.1.4 from 1.1.4! You don’t have to downgrade and then upgrade back up. The only catch here is that since it uses the ZiPhone jailbreaking method it is only supported on the 8GB iPod Touch. Of course this hasn’t stopped some with 16GB touches from giving it a try (and sometimes, yes, it actually does work!).
So if you have an 8GB iPod Touch or if you’re willing to give it a try on your 16GB version, click this link. Keep in mind that this version does not install the App Pack, so you will have to get that as well.
The process is very easy and the program will guide you all the way to the end. But if for some reason you can’t get it to Jailbreak 1.1.4 on your iPod Touch, post your problem here.

Ben, turn off unlock. That is probably messing it up. This 100% works with the 8gig, so it should work for you on 1.1.3 or 1.1.4.

This jailbreak is made for the 8 gig ipod since it uses the ziphone method, but some people with the 16 gigs have it work as well. It just seems to be luck.
This doesn’t add the iphone apps, you need to put those on yourself. The next version should have 100% 16 gig support and maybe the $20 app pack as well. There are a bunch of sources you can add now to get the pack.

This is only for mac, but ZiPhone does work for windows as well. ZiPhone is made for the iPhone, but it does work on 8 gig iPod Touches. Once again some people have luck on the 16gb as well.
So if your on windows you can give that a try, just remember you MUST force restore to 1.1.4, not upgrade to 1.1.4 or it won’t work.

ZiPhone is good, but right now it says it is only for the iPhone, which is why I think it works mostly for just the 8 gig iPod Touch. I haven’t heard of anyone who has the 32 gig that has gotten it to work with ZiPhone. I Hope that ZiPhone become compatible with the 16 and 32 gb models.
It is also worth noting, that I have gotten ZiPhone to work with my 16gb iPod Touch, so anything is possible!

If some of you are having problems, this is from the ijailbreak website:
UPDATE 2: iPod Touches jailbroken appear to be having issues syncing with iTunes, therefore we don’t recommend jailbreaking them. A version for all iPod Touches should be out soon.
I was lucky enough to not have this problem, but if any of you do, just do a force restore and itunes should find the ipod.

khai, i had the exact same problem. What i did was :
1) plug it into iTunes
2) hold the “Lock” and “Home” button for 15 seconds
3) then release the lock button, then continue pressing the home button
4) a message should come up asking to restore the iPod. Click ok/yes

ok fellas, how i managed to solve it was:
a) disconnect the cable.
b) turn off ipod.
c) hold on to home button
d) connect ipod to dock / cable
After this iTunes will say that it detects an ipod in recovery mode, and then asks you to restore.

ok brian this is what you do,
first forcefully turn ur itouch off
then disconnect it from your computer
then hold on to the power button and the home button at the same time, until u see the apple logo on ur itouch, then let go off the power button but KEEP holding on to the home button. You will see the itunes logo and the connect wire on ur itouch. Connect it back 2 ur computer and re-sync it with itunes.
itouch’s dont get bricked so easy because they have a real operating system, not something shity like psp
