I discovered this app: IMGrab a few days ago while browsing around. Before I posted it I wanted to play around with it and see how it works. I think it is a pretty useful app, especially if you want to save a wallpaper from the web onto your iPod Touch. For those who want it, there is a repo/source at the bottom as well as an ishare link.

IMGrab Lets you SAVE Images from websites!
It automatically saves the images to your Photo.app.
You can find wallpapers online, SAVE THEM, and use them.
The Latest Version of Jiggy Runtime is required.
(available here: http://jiggyapp.com/i )
Heres how you use it:
Go to safari and find a nice image you want, and view it Full size.
Then close safari and open IMGrab
Select “Import History” and your last URL should be on the top.
Select your URL and hit “Confirm”
Your image should come up on the screen.
Hit “Save”
After it is saved, you can find it in your Photo.app under “Camera Roll”
DOWNLOAD NOW:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/x7qxoh
You can also download this in installer as well.
Here is the repo/source: modmypod.net/repo.xml
Go to your sources and go to A27 DevTeam, and install IMGrab.
Let me know what you think guys. Once again thanks to ipodtouchfans for this.

Jayson I’m receiving the same error on my iphone. I would love to get this application to work, but I keep getting that error every time I try to import my history or when I try to enter the address manually. Any suggestions would be great.

BTW I’m trying to run that application on 1.1.4….and yes I have great internet connectivity.

You have to fix the path the main.js is referring to in order to save the pictures or to get the history loaded.
With the change of the firmware to version 1.1.3/1.1.4 the reference has to be set on “mobile” instead of “root”. You can check that out with Jiggy. Search for the description of the errors 1003 and 1040. Nearby you’ll also find the path …
Good luck

I went into the main.js in jiggy on my computer to edit it, but they all already said “mobile” instead of “root” and still nothing

Hey Guys,
This app sounds like its a good idea, too bad so many users are having issues. It worked fine for me. So you just need to configure everything correctly and it will work. Make sure the directory’s it needs exist and the permissions are also correct as it will need to write to that dir.
There are other ways to save the image, but its more complex.
Good Luck!

michael, if you keep getting that message, exit installer, and turn off your ipod completley, turn it back on then try again. This ALWAYS works for me. Hope that helped : )

Hey guys this app sounds great and all but there is a way to capture screen shots built into the iPod. All that you have to do is go to the image you want make it full size than press the home button followed immediately by the sleep/wake button. If done correctly a flash of white should appear and your screen shot will be saved in My Photos. Hope this helps
