Yes, you’ve all heard me correctly. ZiPhone 2.6 is now compatible with all iPod Touches (8 gb, 16 gb and 32gb). So anyone can Jailbreak 1.1.4 now! I have posted a simple guide below. The entire Jailbreaking process should only take about 45 seconds!
1. Restore your iPod Touch to firmware 1.1.4. This is very important, you must be running 1.1.4 for this to work.
2. Download ZiPhone and install it. Windows Version. Mac Version.
3. Run ZiPhone.
4. Connect your iPod Touch to your computer with the syncing cable.
5. Now just sit back and wait for ZiPhone to do the rest!
6. Your iPod Touch is now jailbroken on 1.1.4!
7. Head over to this post for a repo/source that will install the iPhone Apps.

**UPDATE** Version 2.6b Released
Ok then.. running previous versions of ZiPhone on an iPod, somebody messed up the NVRAM… Not a problem really!
Get the new version and click on CLEAR/FIX NVRAM.
Then after reboot click on the IPOD jailbreak.

I wish there was a good way to do this without restoring a hate losing all my stuff and then trying to find all the downloads again when many of the sources have already gone down and having to do the GBA’s again was hard enough the first time

When i downloaded the ziphone and tried to run it, i was told to unzip it. And when i did, i got a bunch of error messages that couldnt be unzipped. Help please!

Kenny, it should work if you are running 1.1.4. Worse case, you can always force restore it.

Installed hack on a 16G 1.1.4. It says it installed successfully, but the itouch now acts very flaky. I am unable to update the sources.list as when entering text, it completely freezes on me. Also going into music, settings, etc… and then trying to navigate back home hangs it up for several minutes.
Sometimes trying to navigate into the submenus simply hangs it up for a minute or 2, then it goes back to the home menu.
How do I debug it?

Try force restoring it and see if iTunes detects it.

You need to fully restore BEFORE you try this jailbreak, maybe that was the problem.

NOTE: If you get SPAMMING AT or BSD root:
Just put it in Restore mode and use ZiPhone to kick it back into Normal Mode.

ZiPhone works great (just did my 16GB touch).
As far as repo’s go
http://iromrepo.myfreeforum.org/index.php is going to have an awesome one shortly.
Register there (put xena as the referrer) and you’ll be able to see the progress they’re making on the repo. It is already being beta tested and the public repo is soon to follow. Check back there for news about the repo and all things ipod touch/iphone -related.

Good morning all, I have successfully used Ziphone 2.6b without loosing anything off of my 16gb ipod touch!!! This program is great! I only did one thing different to not loose everything. If this is nothing great then forgive me for wasting your time since I am a newbie. I was already running 1.1.4 and had the jan apps installed. I then left itunes open while installing Ziphone. Once Ziphone was installed, it detected my ipod touch and jailbroke it without me loosing anything!!! Hope this helps or if not I apoligize for being ecited over nothing. take care.

somebody help, when I run the jailbreak on my 8gb touch it always freezes on “spamming AT waiting for response” and when I press the fix nvram button it cant detect my ipod, i always have to force restore it to get it working again.

Everytime I use the keyboard my iPod totally freezes up. I was completely restored to 1.1.4 before using this method so I’m not sure what the problem is. I see others above me have had the same problem but no one has offered a solution. Is there a solution to this?
