Most of the repos/sources aren’t working right now, so I am in the process of putting together a large sendspace account that can add roms using iShare. Today I will be putting up a great deal of GBA ROMs, with NES, SNES, and PSX to come soon as well.

GBA ROMs Guide:
1. Download gpSPhone from the installer
2. Download iShare from the installer
3. Download Mobile finder
4. Press the ~ icon at the far right corner
5. Click Media, then click create at the bottom of the screen.
6. Click Folder, you should see a folder name ‘untitled folder’.
7. Rename it to ‘ROMs’ remember, the R,O and M is capital while the s isn’t
8. Inside the ROMs folder, create another folder call ‘GBA’.
9. Exit mobilefinder.
10. Create or sign in to your own Sendspace account.
11. Click download.
12. Click the URL sign. Now input the file download link, which will be located below. Then click next.
13. Download the game you want into the Folder you created, ‘GBA’.

NES ROMs Guide:
1. Download iPhone NES from the installer
2. Download iShare from the installer
3. Download Mobile finder
4. Press the ~ icon at the far right corner
5. Click Media, then click create at the bottom of the screen.
6. Click Folder, you should see a folder name ‘untitled folder’.
7. Rename it to ‘ROMs’ remember, the R,O and M is capital while the s isn’t
8. Inside the ROMs folder, create another folder call ‘NES’.
9. Exit mobilefinder.
10. Create or sign in to your own Sendspace account.
11. Click download.
12. Click the URL sign. Now input the file download link, which will be located below. Then click next.
13. Download the game you want into the Folder you created, ‘NES’.
**IMPORTANT** For 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 create the folders this way: /var/root/Media/ROMs/NES and for 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 create the folders this way: /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/NES

Sounds like you need a new bios. Yours may be corrupted. Download a new one and see what happens.

ok first you need to have the NES emulator installes then in installer go to souces and add a new one that is http://123locker.com and then you´ll see a new source called BigBoss´s Apps and Thing the you go to Install and then Games and there will be an application called NES Roms and you install it and you´ll have many games on your NES emulator

aight i have a problem. well ive done everything that youve typed. but when i start the emulator it says no ROMs founds. please upload ROMS to /var/root/media/ROMs/GBA……in finder i went backwards to find /var found var than went to root. found media tried to click on media but it doesnt go anywhere. it brings up the file attributes. Anyone have any idea what im doing wrong?

Go on google and search for “gba bios bin” and you should find one.
SRB- You need to manually move the roms to that folder for them to work. Unless you are running 1.1.1 or 1.1.2, then you don’t need to.

yea im using 1.1.4. first i got mobile finder, and sharesend. i created a file in /var/mobile/media/ROMs/GBA. you creat the file using mobile finder. after you created the file. you use sharesend to download the ROMs and put it in your folder that u jsut created. make sure u have the updated version of gpsphone. i went to installer saw that they were two new updates one was the gpsphone and installed that

Hi! Its me again…ok here my problem once again… (iPod touch 1.1.4) I have nes and snes installed from the repo I posted earlier…So I already have a ROMs folder but when I try to create a new folder inside ROMs(using mobile finder) no new folder pops up…Is it because I installed nes and snes from a repo???I’m able to create a new folder in media thow(I don’t know what good that would do) is there any way I can download the games some where else and do a file transfer??? ok guys I finally was able to create a folder in ROMs…ok here’s my new problem I have a ROMs folder inside that I have a GBA folder inside that I have another GBA folder by doing this I’m able to open up gpsphone but I have no games…when’d I’m in ishare and I go to download games…when I get to ROMs folder and I go inside all I get is ” .. ” just those two little dots.. when your downloading the roms into your roms folder. you select the rom folder it brings u inside that folder aand u see the 3 dots? i should be normal save the rom there. than to verify double check by going into the folder to see if the rom is there (using mobile finder)

Thant fryyofish that’s what I did I uninstalled mobile finder and it turns out there was one for 1.1.3/4 so installed that one I now created the GBA folder but I noticed if you create another GBA folder inside that one your able to open up gps phone so… Well so its ROMs/GBA/GBA. just an fyi Jesse, if u dont have a Bios in your GBA folder that will prevent gps phone to not open. it will give you an error like ROMs not found. Please upload ROMs to /var/root/media/ROMs/GBA

hey niall I have 1.1.4 and nes and snes… You have to create a GBA folder inside mobile finder also create another GBA folder inside GBA folder… So you have ROMs/GBA/GBA… Then go to ishare and download the GBA bios.. This is where your going to download the GBA bios… Go to “..” , then applications , then find gpsphone go inside and press select… Then download a game to this… Press “..” , then go to mobile , media and highlight ROMs( if it takes you inside the ROMs folder press back and start again this time the ROMs folder will be highlighted) then press “select” when the games done downloading exit out and go to mobile finder then press “~” then media and inside the media you should see a page of the game you downloaded.highlight the game press “file” the “move” then go inside the ROMs folder then inside GBA folder then inside GBA folder(thesecond GBA folder) and “paste” the game there…exit out of mobile finder and go play your game Have fun!

Raymond make sure you mobile finder that is for 1.1.3/4 when you open up your installer go to uninstall and check it out on more info…earlier I had 2 mobile finder apps in installer so I figured they were the same but turns out that 1 of them said it was for 1.1.3 so installed that one now I’m able to create another folder in ROMs…

Carter when you go to “..” (in ishare) there should be a file called “mobile” go into that now you should see ROMs folder….”..”/media/ROMs… The “/” tells you to go into that folder or file that way I don’t have to write go into “..” then into “media” then into ROMs…get it it takes to long so we just put “/”

I’m having a problem getting the GBA bios. Every time I try to download the bios into gpsphone I get a download failed message. However, if I try to install it into my roms folder it works fine. Please help, I’ve been trying to get this to work all day and I’m at a loss as to what I should do.

in gba iVe downloaded zelda link to the past and f zero. Gpsphone has them in the menu. When I try to play either game I get an error in odd spaced white letters across top of screen about an incorrect bios. I downloaded the one here. You can see the control pad but screen stays black and hangs up or boots you sometimes from the program
Anyone have a sendspace for a good gba bios.
I tried the GBA/GBA folder inside of where all my other roms live. Didn’t work copied bios to there.

I got mine to work. The two GBA folder thing didn’t work though. In mobile finder I changed the permissions on gpsphone.app so anyone can write to it then downloaded the bios directly into it. Works Great!

Tony you have the wrong mobile finder uninstall it an go to installer you should see two of the one is for 1.1.1/2 and the other is for 1.1.3/4 I know it says it for 1.1.3 and does not mention 1.1.4 but it works…I had the same problem and it drove me crazy!!!

Using Mobilefinder select gpsphone.app and click modify. Set it so anyone can write to it. Now go into Ishare, put in the link for the bios shown on this page, then go to
-media
-mobilefinder
-applications
Click on gpsphone.app and click select. Once it finishes downloading gpsphone should work.

I’m still having issues. This sucks, harder than hacking the phone itself. Gpsphone still has no love for Dr. Jones
Ishare won’t let me download the bios inside the apps folder. Trying a work around this and copying the bios into apps with finder won’t work. Ishare only let’s me download files into the folder after I click next after entering 8okx8s.

For everyone that is having the bios problem, also remember that you can manually SSH into your iPod Touch and add the bios_bin to the gpsphone. That was the way I did it and I had no problems at all.

After cold boot of iPhone bookmarks remains however game info lost.
Bookmarks work only until you restart @ least 4 NES zelda 1. I won’t play hard till I can write beyond a cold boot/ restart.

I think. Well no I finally got it. I taught myself a bit of unix and copied the file from var/root to gpSPone.app via terminal
Use ishare to download gba_bios.bin to default directory that ishare uses when you hit next after entering file code
In terminal use this command:
cp gba_bios.bin /Applications/gpSPhone.app
Your roms need to be in var/mobile/Media/ROMs/GBA/GBA
to work on iPhone 16gb 1.1.4

What am I doing wrong? I have created all the folders and I have done everything. I login to sendspace and I enter in a URL. Then I select the folder to download it in. var/root/Media/Roms/GBA, something like that and it keeps saying “download failed.” What am I doing wrong.

When every I try to download the roms to var/mobile/Media/ROMs/GBA(GENESIS or NES) it says download failed. Please help.

You have to put the bios in the gpsphone.app and the way I did it was first tap the “..” and then “applications” and then find gpsphone.app. Make sure you go to mobile finder and modify gpsphon and tap the “write” and the other ones. (I just tapped them all on) and it should work.

I am working on compressing the PSX ROMs, the problem is that most of them are too big for sendspace. I really need a sendspace max account to support bigger file sizes. So anyone who can donate (look on the sidebar for the link) so that I can get this account, it would be greatly appreciated. I will most likely have snes roms up in a few days at least.

I have the install on my ipod touch.
if I use the installer I get these message.

When I try to downlosd the ROMs to my 1.1.4 iphone using ishare, the only thing that shows up in the ROMs folder is ‘..’ even though i created all of the ROM folders in mobile finder please help

Chris download the games to… “..”/mobile/ROMs just highlight the folder if it takes you inside ROMs folder press back and start again…now the ROMs folder should be highlighted. Press “select” when the games done downloading go to mobile finder “~”/media now you should see a page of the game you downloaded highlight it press “file” then “move” and go “paste” it in your GBA folder or if its GENESES paste it in that folder…keep in mind GBA needs the bios downloaded first…Read earlier comments to find out more…

Hi,
Can’t seem to figure this out. I’ve done the NES ROMs before using some other method, and they work no problem. Then I found this, followed the instructions for GBA, but no luck.
-Downloaded GpsPhone, iShare, MobileFinder.
-Created folders in the right place, correct CAPs, etc.
Now when I go to Sendspace, punch in the proper URL, hit the button in the upper right hand to start DL, but then it wants to know where I want to download to.
Now here’s the problem. The GBA folders don’t show up. Other .app folders show up, like iPhysics and whatnot, but never the GBA folder. Even the NES Rom folder shows up, but not the proper folder for GBA games.
Anyone have a similar problem?

Tate you have the wrong mobile finder…uninstall mobile finder the go to “all packages”…now when you go to install mobile finder again you’ll notice there’s 2 of them…one is for 1.1.1/2 and the other for 1.1.3/4…don’t worry I know it says its for 1.1.3 but it works for 1.1.4 also…Now you can create a folder.

Tate I don’t know what source I got it from… The contact on the mobile finder I’m using is from iclarified…well here’s the sources I installed…”All sources” , “Bigboss’s Recommended…” , “Community sources” you should see those in “Sources” folder in your installer…the only bad thing is that it takes a while to refresh and you’ll get updates for your apps but…

if when you click on the roms its takes you into the ROMs folder the click the .. so ROMs is highlight. Then useing mobile finder click the rom you downloaded. the at the bottom click file move. then go to ROMs/GBA or (GENESIS) and click paste.

OK i had the same problem at first “AT FIRST!!”
Now im playing gba games and it works!!
Steps:
1. Download iShare of Installer
2. Open iShare and click Download
3. Type in the gba bios link
4. Tap the Home button at the top
5. Click the two dots x2
6. Then click Applications
7. Scroll down and find gpSPhone.app
8. Open it and save it there!

Tate. If you have the bios already then try to download games somewhere else in ishare and then go to mobile finder and copy and paste it to ROMs/GBA/GBA. It worked for me for snes Roms and it may also work for gba.

finally got off work…ok Tate download the roms..
“..”/mobile/media once your inside media press”next” let it download
now go in mobile finder and highlight the page/game press “file” then “move” now go into your GBA folder (last one nothing should be in the first GBA folder) and press “paste” Now you can play your game…
P.S. If you get file not found its because the “0″ zero looks like “o” letter…its gets trick when there 2 or more “0″/”o” you have to mix or match till you find the right…also the “1″ could be mistaken for “l” letter…

Well here is one of the Genesis ROMs file. It´s a rar file containig the roms as zip files. Genesis4iphone is able to read zip files so just uncompress the rar and use them. There will be 4 files, but they are independent, you don’t need the 4 to unrar.

dimitri, the iPhone and iTouch have two partitions, a little one with 300 MB and a large one with the rest. Only the 300 MB can be used for apps when you use all of it you will not be able to install apps with instaler. Some one is already preparing a solution to this, one already exists, the BossTolls (download with installer), but you have to be carefull, so before using it read the More Info…

when I opened it up, the apps and fonts were already moved and i went to the free space in bosstools and it still said like 165 out of 300. The bosstools that I downloaded was for 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 but I think it also said 1.1.3 and I have 1.1.4 so I dont know if it worked. There was only one.

I have been doing this for ages and have followed all of the steps in this blog.
I have saved all the roms to the right place as they come up when I open gpsphone (i can only find v 1.1.2). However I receive the error message about Gameboy Adv or something and the game wont actually play…
I have tried using mobile finder (for my 1.1.4) to put the bio into the application and have also tried directly downloading to the application but neither works. When I try to Go to “modify” in mobile finder and click on Write for all of them and then done. It doesnt do any thing. As soon as I go back into it they are still unclicked liked before. How Can I overcome this final hurdle… I am so close!!!!

I can’t get the gba emulator to work. I have gpsphone 1.5 and firmware 1.1.4. I’ve downloaded roms into media/ROMs/GBA/GBA. I’ve downloaded the gba bios from here onto the ROMs folder. I’ve changed the permissions for gpsphone so owner can read, write, and exec. I’ve tried moving the bios to gpsphone with mobilefinder but nothing works. I’ve also tried downloading the bios directly to gpsphone with ishare. When I start gpsphone it says sorry but ipsp requires a gameboy advance and then something about an incorrect bios. I would appreciate any help.

4.) Now turn both GBA folders “read” “write” and “exec” on (like you did with gpsphone.app) this will allow you to save your game progress

Jesse, there are two mobilefinders in installer. I’ve tried downloading the one that says it’s been “modified to work on 1.1.3 an…”. I can’t read the rest of the info even after clicking on more info, but i’m assuming it’s also for 1.1.4. Anyways I’ve tried downloading that one twice after uninstalling the other one , but it says something like main script execution failed every time. The other mobile finder works fine even though i thinks its for 1.1.1/1.1.2 since the description doesn’t talk about firmware.

Anyone know how I can fix my problem?

I got the error message downloading gpsphone, so I skipped it an downloaded finder. I also downloaded bosstool to try and clean things up.
So I have enough room, but keep getting the error message from the gpsphone trying to download. help pleasE?

I finally got gpsphone to work. What I’m wondering is what the sound is a little distorted. The roms actually are a bit buggy (slows down every now and then). It’s only a minor issue, but I just want to make sure that it’s not only me.

dimitri hey it turns out you can download it on your iPod…just google “brill301 ishare” and you should see “genesis…..no computer…..ishare” go to that website and there’s a mega upload link for GENESIS,SNES, and PSX(PSX links don’t work thow).click the megaupload link and at top of the page there should be 3 letters..type the 3 letters in press download then it will take you to another page wait for the 45 sec. Countdown and press download…after this another page should pop-up its spam so close it and go back to the mega upload page which should now be a list of games

tony they dont have to be in alphabetical order. Mine aren’t pretty much everything is in order except for my games like genisis, gpsphone, snes etc. And it worked for me. Make sure you modify it and turned “read” “write” and “exec” all on in mobile finder.

Dimitri in BossTool there should be a part where it says you have ??? Free out of 300mb and below there should be ???? Free out of ???? On VAR…write down your free space you have then install any app and check if your free space changes

I dont think so because my ne emulater has about 85 Roms because of the pack and none of them lag at all. It will only lag alot depending on the game.

They have internet everywhere because they use the phone services internet. if you have a regular cell phone, you can go online anywhere. since your friends have iphones, they can also go online anywhere.

I have a iPod Touch 1.1.4 and I have iShare and Mobile Finder. I have typed in the iShare URL, the GBA bios and put it in the ROMs directory. Now, I typed in the games like Jamesbond and the SIMs, I put that in var/mobile/ROMs/GBA/GBA and both games are in it. The only thing is that when I have opened the Gamboy Advance it says ” Sorry, ISIP required with Gamboa Adva” Help!!!

using mobile finder or winspc u make a folder named GENISIS in the ROMs folder, which is in turn in the Media folder. Then u put all ur Genisis Roms in the GENESIS folder.

alright guys here is a new way to get some roms, just add my repo iappcat.com/r/33391 and you will find just a couple of roms under the folder “kikos apps” you will also find 2 gba_bios.bin downloads available. what I will be doing is taking requests to add roms for snes, nes, gbc, and gba roms only.(PSX roms are HUGE) my email is adrian_njms@sbcglobal.net. for subject add ROM Request and in the email include the rom name and the platform. also if some of the roms or other apps aren’t working email me and I will either find a new one or download it and send it to you personally

John, make sure wifi is working properly. Sometimes I get a signal even when the wifi doesn’t actually work. Also, if you can’t download it to those directories, then download it somewhere else. Use mobilefinder from installer to move the files to the directories after you finish downloading.

Okay, SSHing is going into your itouch/phone using a computer with a program like WINscp for the computer and openSSH for the Ipod. The only way to play GBA and PSX games is to have the BIOS file for whichever one, and have the permissions set to 0755 which is way easier to do with SSH, thats where a computer comes in handy, but possible without one. I am currently using “Ifile”, an app from Cydia, to access my Ipod’s files and hopefully find a way to set the permissions to 0755. Ive heard rumors that you can use an app called “Squid” to change the permissions, but have had no luck with finding the app let alone using it. Ok, Im back with some information some of you may or may not find useful. Alright so using Ifile has been a succes, kudos for the creator and creation, but has not helped me in my overall goal to have and use a working PSX/GBA emulator with working ROMs. Ifile is very useful for many things such as renaming the PSX BIOS to scph1001.bin instead of SCPH1001.bin, and this is appearently absolutely neccesary for the BIOS to work. Not only does that help alot but if you download GBA ROMs from Cydia and it goes to the GBphone ROM section, then you can simply copy and paste the file for it to be in the GBA4iphone ROMs section. You may ask why this will help, well here’s why, the creator of the original GBA emulator for the Itouch/Phone, ZodTTD, recently made his emulator, GBphone, cost money, but the GBA4iphone is free, (it says you have to donate but just click where the amount is, above the button “Donate and Download”, and select “Can’t Donate”, then click donate and download and you will now be able to install it for free) so when you click to download ROMs from Cydia for GBA then it will go to the GBphone ROMs section, so then just copy and paste it from the GBphone ROMs sections to the GBA4Iphone ROMs section then your done, easy ROMs. Anyways, my luck with changeing permissions to 0755 has been a failure, due to the fact i cannot find this, “Squid” app. The only emulators that will work for me are the NES and Sega Genesis, which aren’t too great but kudos for the idea, whoever created it. So I will continue on my quest towards more games, and appearently Jose, the guy above this post, has gotten his GBA emulator to work, so props, but I have yet to find,myself, a way to make the PSX and/or GBA emulators work without a computer. P.S. This was written all on my Itouch or Ipod Touch or whatever, they don’t call it the Ipod Phone so who gives a fuck if we don’t call it the Ipod Touch… Contact me if you have questions or anything, anialation95@yahoo.com.

Alright guys, I’m back with more questions and some answers! Woo! I am currently on a laptop right now and am using WINscp and have changed the permission to 0755 the proper way, for ALL my GBA and PSX ROMs and currently about to reboot my Ipod Touch 2G FW 2.2.1 I have got the gpSPhone.app and added the BIOs to that, so best of luck to me and I’ll get back to you in a bit.

OMG EPIC PWN GUYS. Okay my GBA is now working, I have been playing Pokemon Leaf Green and it works! Whatever you guys do just please dont believe that Jesse guy, he is giving false information, you DO NOT need to place the bios under ROMs/GBA/GBA because in ROMs/GBA it CLEARY says, Place_gba_bios.bin-here. Gosh, Okay here is all the essentials and the REAL steps to installing the GBA emulator properly.
Essentials (What You Need)
1. IFile
2. gpSPhone
3. IShare
4. Jailbroken iPod Touch/Phone
Alright this is going to be a mostly idiot proof guide so listen up
Guide
1. Go to Cydia and download gpSPhone by ZodTTD
1.5 gpSPhone is a Donate and Download package so in order to get free, select the amount of money to download and change it to FREE or Cant Donate then click donare and download, then it will say you can now succesfully install gpSPhone for free, now install it
2. Download IShare from Cydia
3. Download IFile from Cydia
4. Go to IShare and either create an account or login to a previous
5. Go to download ( on IShare ) then write 80kx8s after the “http://sendspace.com/file/”
6. Select where to install to
6.5 The directory to install to is /user/var/mobile/ROMs/GBA
6.75 There is no need to download MobileFinder or whatever because the directory is already made after installing gpSPhone from Cydia
7. Go to IFile and go to the gba_bios.bin you just downloaded
7.5 The directory is /user/var/mobile/ROMs/GBA
8. Click on the gba_bios.bin’s arrow to the right then go to properties
8.25 navigate to permissions, then Users,select all of them but Sticky
8.5 Select group and select Execute and Read
8.75 Select World and select Execute and Read
9.0 add ROMs to your ROMs/GBA folder and play them
9.5 The GBA ROMs end with .gba, all lower case
