I have seen a lot of questions from people asking how they can save games on their iPod Touch. Because of this I have put together a guide that should fix this problem. This guide is for users who are running 1.1.3 and 1.1.4.
Now lets get started!
1. If you haven’t already done so, install BSD Subsystem. It is located in the “System” Category.
2. Next, install term-vt100.
3. Open up term-vt100 and type the below text. You must type it exactly how you see it.
chown -hR mobile /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/insert your choice
Where I have put “insert your choice”, put either GBA, NES, SNES, PSX, GENESIS, GAMEBOY
4. Now open up the emulator and pick any ROM. You should now be able to save the progress of your game!
If you have any questions about getting your ROMs to save on your iPod Touch please post them over at the forums.

I found out you can save just by exiting and puhing “yes overwrite current”. It works with all of my emulators and I didn’t install term-vt100.
*(Try not to save too early into the game and it might not work)

are there any spaces “chown -hR mobile /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/_ _ _”?
like are there any spaces in between chown -hR, and mobile?

I did not use term-vt100.
Instead I used WinSCP.
How to:
1. In WinSCP, click on “Files”, then select “Custom Commands”. Click “Enter”.
2. A window will appear. In the space provided paste this: chown -hR mobile /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/GAMEBOY
provided that it’s gameboy games that you want to save.
3. Do not change anything else and select “OK”.
4. It should tell you that “… Separate shell session may be opened to…”. Select “OK”.
5. This should do the trick!

George // June 7, 2008 at 9:24 am
simon, instead try
chown -hR mobile /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/GBA
or instead of GBA it could be whatever your using (NES, GENESIS, etc)

George-
You need the GBA bios:
1.Install ishare with installer.app
2.Create an account with ishare
3.Go to “Download”
4.Click the text box
5.Type in 8okx8s
The whole thing should read: http://sendspace.com/file/8okx8s
6.Hit Download in the upper right corner
7.Hit the “..” 2 or 3 times until you see “Applications” and click on it.
8.Click gpsphone.app
9.Click “Done” in the upper right corner and wait for it to download
