iPod Touch: iSlsk.app Released

A new application called iSlsk has been released for the iPod Touch. It is still in beta stage, so of course there are some bugs, regardless it works very well. iSlsk is a P2P Soulseek client. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Soulseek, it is very similar to Limewire.
Here is what you can do with iSlsk:
1. You can search for files.
2. You can connect to a Soulseek network using your iPod Touch’s Wi-Fi.
3. You can download files from other iSlsk users.
4. You can run iSlsk in the background and download music while using other applications.
5. You can import downloaded music into iTunes from your iPod Touch.
iSlsk is available on the BigBoss repo.
If you have any problems, please post them over at the forums.
this sounds pretty tight
I like it but when i try to download something it says, “Your FirewireGUID couldnt be recongnized, and therefore, music importing will not be availible.”

I got the same thing to, maybe its because of your iTunes app doesnt let you preview music or something

I get the FireWire guid message too, found a way to fix it but it doesn’t work still and I had to restore my phone in the process, hopefully a update is released to fix this problem

To solve this issue, you will have to know a little of how to ssh …
if you dont you look for some videos on youtube they explain it very well
Log in to your iPhone or iPod touch with SSH and do the following:
1) check if you have “ioreg” binary in /usr/bin/ directory
2) If not download it from errick website and upload it to /usr/bin
then you copy and paste all this commands into putty
i put a – in front of the commands… start the copy and paste from the first letter not the -
-chmod 755 /usr/bin/ioreg
-chown mobile:mobile /Applications/iSlsk.app/
-chown mobile:mobile /Applications/iSlsk.app/*
Download libncurses.5.dylib from http://iphonefreakz.com/wp-content/libncurses.zip and upload only
libncurses.5.dylib to /usr/lib
-run chmod 777 /usr/lib/lib*
after that restart you ipod/iphone and start downloading your music!

guys if you join the forum, you can get a lot more information. I’m a moderator and I can tell you that most of the questions are answered. FYI also does not work right now so you should just wait for an update. I’m sure by now the creators already know. Oh and edinho, good c+p
