Well it didn’t take long at all, the rumor is that 2.0 has been jailbroken.  The bad news is that it hasn’t been released to the public yet.  You can find out more information on it here.

Thursday, May 2nd - Gameboy4iphone Released

Sorry, if I have been neglecting this part of the site a little lately. I did report this right away on the front page, but forgot to do so here. The Gameboy4iphone was actually released on April 22nd. I really like this emulator and it runs Gameboy and GBC games very smoothly. To find out more information on it click here.

Thursday, April 2nd - PwnageTool Released for Macs

The PwnageTool has been released for mac users of both the iPod Touch and the iPhone. To find out exactly what is is and why you WILL want it head over to this post.

Ziphone 2.6 was released a few days ago. Version 2.6b was released shortly after, which now adds the option to “CLEAR/FIX NVRA”. If you were worried about jailbreaking 1.1.4 before and wanted to wait for a sure way of getting it done, your time has now come. Head on over here to get started!

Thursday, March 13th - Fully Supported ZiPhone Release for iPod Touch Coming Soon

As of right now, ZiPhone works for some and doesn’t work for others. This is due to change very soon and those of you who couldn’t get it to work will soon be very happy. Version 2.6 is in the works and it will fix the ZiPhone and iPod Touch compatibility problem. Please check back as I will be posting a guide once it is released.

Thursday, March 6th - Jailbreak Your 8GB or 16GB iPod Touch

Yes, you heard me correctly! You can finally jailbreak the 16GB iPod Touch. Head over here for more information.

Saturday, March 1st - iJailBreak Release Jailbreak for 1.1.4

Today, iJailbreak.com released a version that will allow you to jailbreak from 1.1.4. The process is very easy and MUCH shorter than previous methods that required all types of downgrades and upgrades. However, they say that this jailbreak is only supported on the 8GB model. From what I have heard, some who have the 16GB model have gotten it to work, while others haven’t. It seems that it is the toss of a coin that determines if it will work on the 16GB model or not. You can find more information on this here.

Wednesday, February 27th - iromrepo.com Very Very Short-lived.

Everyone had been waiting so long for the launch of iromrepo.com. Many people even donated to the site so that it could be up and running. Well, the site did come back with a great repo that featured nes, snes, gba, and psx roms just like everyone had been wishing for. But if you blinked an eye, you missed it, because that great repo is gone already, along with the entire site. If you go to iromrepo.com all you are greeted with is this: iROM repo is dead. Goodbye. Not the nicest way to say goodbye, but it’s gone for good now. I feel bad for all those who donated and didn’t even get to use the repo, hopefully a good deal of those who donated caught the repo in the first day or two and got what they wanted. For the time being it looks like we are back to using individual repos. I’m still working on finding repos for gba and psx. I’ve got nes and snes covered for the time being. If anyone knows of any good repos, either e-mail me or post them in sources/repos/ishare.

Tuesday, February 26th - Firmware 1.1.4 Released, Ziphone Jailbreak Method Works for 8gb iPod Touch

We got 1.1.4 today, but the one thing we didn’t get was the one thing every one had been hoping for: SDK support. There are some minor upgrades, but nothing to write home about. You can find out more news on 1.1.4 and jailbreaking here. Also it is worth noting, the ZiPhone creators recommend waiting on jailbreaking until they release a new version that will be more stable. We are also still waiting on a “real” ZiPhone version made exclusively for the iPod Touch and not the iPhone.

Sunday, February 24th - Official Lonman06 Sendspace Account for GBA ROMs - PASSWORD CHANGED

I was hoping this wasn’t going to happen again, but someone has once again changed the password and the GBA ROM sendspace account is lost. I have added a new way of doing this, that should prevent anyone from changing the password since you are required to log in from your own sendspace account. For more information on this method, click here.

Thursday, February 21st - Official Lonman06 Sendspace Account for GBA ROMs

Today is the first day for the official sendspace account from Lonman06.com to add GBA ROMs. Hopefully this one will last a long time. Feel free to upload any ROMs that you have that aren’t there. The ROM count currently is at 111. For more information click here.

Wednesday, February 20th - iROM Repo Goes Private

It was only about a week ago that the much anticipated iROM repo launched. You can see my post on it here. It was a repo that added NES, SNES, GBA, and PSX ROMs. Some people did get lucky enough to install ROMs from this repo, but the repo became too popular to fast and the server got hammered. Since then the repo has gone private. iROMrepo.com says that if there are enough donations that it could become public again. But for now, you will need a password to use the source. To get a password go to this link: http://iromrepo.com/betareg/signup.php and sign up.

Wednesday, February 20th - iJailBreak 0.5.3 Released: Unlock works with all iPhones, PowerPC Compatibility Re-ensured

This story is taken from ijailbreak.com. I’m sure some of you are familiar with ZiPhone. For those of you who aren’t, ZiPhone is a jailbreaking method currently only for the iPhone (although some have had success using it on the 8gb iPod Touch) that allows you to jailbreak from 1.1.3. That’s right now more downgrading to 1.1.1 and then having to go from there. It is expected that a compatible version will be released for the iPod Touch.

We’ve just uploaded iJailBreak 0.5.3 to our Google Code. This version brings a few features from the new ZiPhone version released a short bit ago.First, the unlock now works on all iPhones - regardless of whether you bought it this afternoon or on June 29. Second, we got some conflicing reports from our PowerPC users regarding iJailBreak working - some said it worked, others said it didn’t. This update has re-ensured PowerPC compatibility for those running Tiger or Leopard. If you’re running any other version of Mac OS X, iJailBreak will not work.

IMPORTANT: this release does not include iPod Touch support. We’re still working on that.

It will be pushed as an update in the next few hours to our current install base, but if you’d rather use iJailBreak 0.5.3 now, you can download it here. Enjoy!

Apple sucks. Don’t buy into market/hardware lock-in with zero expandability and functionality… that’s how you create industry that tells YOU what to do.
